Is aerial acrobatics for me?
The wonderful thing about circus arts is that everyone can do it! Although aerial is very physical, it is not competitive. Practice and repetition gets you to where you want to go. In the circus community we learn to be patient and lift each other up. Here are a few FAQs:
Do I have to be strong to do aerial?
This is a frequent and most common question. No. You do not have to be strong to do aerial. You will become strong once you do aerial enough times. By doing it, you will gain a lot of strength. It helps if you are already strong, but not required.
Do I need to have previous experience?
No. No previous experience is needed for beginner classes. Having aerial or dance experience gives you body awareness that helps you learn aerial faster, but it is not necessary. You will gain body awareness once you take aerial classes and learn to dance through the air.
How long does it take to learn aerial acrobatics?
Everyone learns differently! As a teacher, it is our job to accommodate how each individual student learns best and not everyone is the same.
Can my grandma do it?
Yes! And watch out, she might be doing it better than you!
